Been busy with life, two new rigs!

Been busy with life lately…. here are a couple updates!

Indy style 500D Coyote brown double sided Satchel/Bandolier, carries up to 10 20rd magazines, and 12 10rd magazines for Hi Point carbines, but can also be used to carry SMG/Glock stick magazines if they can fit in the elastic loops.

Front section view; very low profile, simple.

Back section

Interior shot; 6 slots for 10rd mags up top, with Redball 995 magazines on bottom row

Close up of the bottom row elastic loops for the 20rd magazines

the space in between the two sections, useful for flat items and small items

Next up, a Split front MOLLE chest rig out of 1000D Woodland Cordura scraps that weren’t perfectly cut; using IDF style spring loaded cam buckles for closure, and ALICE LC-2 Enhanced ruck straps for the shoulder straps with 2 additional spring loaded cam buckles, all of which came from scavenged/surplus ALICE LC straps. SPecs of the rig; 8 MOLLE columns and 7 rows, with no gap, or 4 rows plus 3 rows in between the 4 main rows

MOLLE Split rig clean mode, simple LadderLoc buckle for rear cross strap

Close up of the buckle attachments

With IDF style single pull cord knotted into both buckles. Very quick release on the straps, and easy adjustments for size

Showing one set up; 12 AR magazines in 4 pouches, and 2 medic pockets, the rig is capable of accepting both MOLLE and ALICE attachments, as well as Bianchi’s UM84 clip system

showing another set up; with the front closed up. again, 2 Tactical Tailor Universal Mag pouches, 2 TT grenade/small utility pockets, 2 canteen covers, and 2 IDF small pouches connected via ALICE clips, and finally, one large 200rd SAW ammo pouch for dump pouch duty.  I am on the look out for two more of the TT Universal Mag Pouches in Woodland, but may be able to just use two USGI M4 double pouches, or just get more short MALICE clips and tie ALICE pouches on there.

ALICE frame modular stuff sack pack system;

Decided to see what the MOLLE compression panels could take, and set up a backpack system in which the main bag is removable and contains all of my hammock camping gear cept tarp and suspension tree straps!

Pack with everything loaded onto it

Side view with hatchet mounted

Other side view with knife and flashlight

Bottom view, that is a vintage M1967 sleep system carrier being used as the bottom panel.

Suspension view. Even though this frame is obsolete, and usually not comfortable with ALICE packs…it works pretty good for this load because of the packing system.

The pack contains the following items;

In the WW2 laundry bag stuff sack;

under pad

bug net

Kelty top quilt

In each of the 4x USMC Coyote brown pouches;

First aid kit (marked with red cross)

cook set and fire kit

back up hammock/gear hammock (Grand Trunk UltraLite)

In the MOLLE Water bottle carriers are the water bottles (self explanatory)

USGI M16 pouches carries my tarp in one, and hammock suspension in other

IDF revolver ammo/handcuff pouch houses my compass

Green Buttpack up top carries my clothes for up to 3 days

horizontal MOLLE pouch on very top carries my stakes, cordage, bandannas.

I do have room enough in the WW2 laundry bag to carry more insulation if I need to.

I notice that the MOLLE compression panels will likely need a 3rd buckle in the middle, and 2 more straps to attach to the frame, so that it compresses better around the main stuff sack.

UPDATED INFO; SKS 100 rd pouch is in fact compatible with 4x AR15 20 round magazines!

I was looking at a M1967 AR15 20 round magazine pouch, and decided to load it with my SKS stripper clip ammo; it holds 10 clips a little snugly, so for those who have AR15 20 round magazines but are tired of having to fish them out of regular pouches, or having to add foam blocks to the bottom of your 30rd magazine pouches; my pouch is in fact an excellent replacement! I have them in ACU with MOLLE, Woodland with both LC and MOLLE webbing, and will be offering 3 color or dark khaki for those who like Flat Dark Earth…
